Assignement Questions
- Should a more business-like approach be used to generate income from the
use of the national network? - or just stay happy with the very welcome state
support? -
- Should Carelink continue to be dependent on public funding - or was there
a market to make it private?
- Was it time to revise the initial decision to have the "traffic"
on Sjunet free-of charge now that more and more partners were connected? The
network needed continuous investments in the range of 10 Mkr (1 M €)/year
to develop security, basic services etc.
- How to deal with the decentralised decision making - with a large number
of independent actors - how could such an environment be "managed"
when projects became more and more complex and resource-demanding. Some members
were showing signs of impatience with the pace of development - and some thought
things were moving too fast.
- Should Carelink go for the Nordic Health Care Network? Working with more
countries would add on the complexity, but what advantage would it bring?
It seemed as if technology was not the main challenge - but rather legal and
bureaucratic issues. How would Carelink and its partners in the Nordic countries
be able to navigate in such domains?
